The Debate

The WA State Parliament is currently debating whether or not to pass a Voluntary Assissted Dying Bill, which would alllow individuals to end their own lives in the presence of a physician.

It goes without saying that terminal and chronic illness can be debilitating, expensive, painful and scary, as well as stripping away a person's agency and their dignity. The choice to regain some control, to say goodbye to those you love with grace and autonomy, and to forego years of suffering, should belong entirely to the individual. That is why WA should legislate in favour of Voluntary Assissted Dying.

Influence the outcome of this debate by casting your votes

You can cast your vote for speakers that best align with your views on this debate. The more votes a speaker gets the higher up the list they appear. The speaker with the most votes will be highlighted as the Leading Speaker.

Everybody gets two votes. One vote "FOR" and one vote "AGAINST" which means you can only vote once per column. You can change your vote at any time - just click the checkmark () where you previously voted to remove your vote and you can cast it again.

If you use both your votes, they will effectively cancel each other out in terms of the overall debate results. However, your votes will influence each speaker individually and count towards the determination of the Leading Speaker.
